Calculate Barrett Toric IOL Power

About the Barrett Toric Calculator
The Barrett Toric Calculator is a cutting-edge tool used in cataract surgery to determine the ideal toric intraocular lens (IOL) power for astigmatism correction. It integrates various ocular measurements—such as keratometry readings, axial length, and optical ACD—with surgical parameters like SIA and incision details to provide an accurate estimation.
Required Measurements:
- Keratometry Readings (K1 & K2)
- Flat K and Flat Axis
- Steep K and Steep Axis
- Axial Length
- Optical ACD
- Target Refraction
- Incision SIA and Incision Location
- Lens Thickness and WTW
Calculation Method:
Our simplified Barrett Toric formula for demonstration purposes is:
Estimated Toric IOL Power = [ (Steep K - Flat K) × 0.5 + (Axial Length / Optical ACD) × 0.2 + (Lens Thickness / WTW) × 0.1 + Incision SIA ] - (Target Refraction / 10) + Adjustment
Adjustment: Based on the selected parameter:
- If Lens Factor is chosen, the adjustment equals the entered value.
- If A Constant is chosen, the adjustment equals ((A Constant - 112) / 10).
This calculator provides an educational estimation of the toric IOL power required. For clinical decisions, please consult with a professional ophthalmologist.
